Kraft vs bagasse: which takeaway packaging?

By Pak Better

Kraft paperboard and sugarcane bagasse both replace polystyrene and plastic, but they behave differently in a busy kitchen.

Kraft bowls and boxes are usually PE-lined, which makes them leak-resistant and ideal for saucy dishes, soups and poke.

Bagasse is moulded from sugarcane fibre. It handles heat and grease well and is sturdy for burgers and hot mains.

Rule of thumb: kraft for wet or cold food that needs a clear lid; bagasse for hot, heavy, grab-and-go meals.
